Introducing Carey

Providing both great images and an outstanding, tailored service for my clients – whether I am providing a set of images for a business or individual, or producing a fine art album or framed prints for a home – requires not only creativity and experience as a photographer but lots of people skills and in a nutshell being very organised!

As my business grows and expands and I take on more and more commissions as a wedding, family, business and general portrait photographer, having someone who I can trust to liaise with my clients, and who can offer the administrative support, is every bit as important as me staying fresh and honing my eye in capturing great imagery. So, since moving from Suffolk last April – reluctantly leaving behind the fabulous assistant and designer that was Sarah – and arriving in Teddington, I have been looking for someone to assist me in making sure everything is running smoothly behind the scenes to  free  me up to concentrate more on the bit that I do best – both shooting pictures and perfecting the results with the creative and important postproduction work I carry out on every shoot.

I thought very hard about the sort of person I needed, and last September finally found the perfect person in a lovely lady called Carey.

So this post is to introduce and welcome (rather belatedly as we have been busy getting to know each other and sorting all manner of things) Carey to Anna McCarthy Photography.

Carey’s career background is in admin, marketing, and IT, but she is also a woman who has been through the experience of getting married, having children (3 gorgeous girls), and therefore, like myself and many of my clients, understands those major junctures in life. She also loves photography and has an appreciation of how useful a strong portrait can be (whether for a business or any individual: writer, actor, musician etc) –  and how beautifully captured and printed wedding or family images can enhance our lives and give lasting pleasure for generations.

Already Carey’s life experiences have brought great benefits to my business, and as someone who has lived and worked in the London Borough of Richmond all her life, I could not have been luckier in finding her… she seems to know everyone and every nook and cranny of the Teddington community!

Some of you will have met or spoken to Carey by now but she is looking forward to getting to know you all better and both us meeting all the new clients who have  booked my photography services for the year ahead.

For me, it is just so brilliant when you meet someone who is all the things you hoped for:  enthusiastic,  brimming with ideas, logical, focussed, organised, calm, and with a similar aesthetic appreciation of things. And, above all else, Carey has a warmth with people and knows how to listen and respond to my clients’ needs.

Like so many of us Carey is a reluctant subject in front of the camera, but happily she let me take this of her so you can put a face to these words!

Together Carey and I are looking forward to providing a first class service and experience for all the lovely folk we will meet in 2014, so if  you are looking for someone to provide some professional pictures for you, please get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.
